About the event
A legend is coming to Oslo!
Phil Coulter, one of Ireland’s best known and most iconic singer-songwriters and producers, is finally coming back to Oslo. He’s the man behind songs like “The Town I Loved so Well” and “Scorn not his Simplicity”, but also “Congratulations” and “Puppet on a String”.
Last time he visited Norway, was when he performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 1998. An Iorua – Irish Cultural Centre is thrilled to invite him back to Oslo for a concert, and what better occasion than for us to mark the centre’s official launch with this performance?
On stage, Phil will be joined by his wife, the wonderful singer Geraldine Brannigan. His one-man-band will be our very own Brendan Monaghan, and, of course, the lovely ladies of the Mná Oslo Irish Choir will join on backing vocals.
Phil’s career does not only span the years, cross generations, but has reached far across the world, from performing at The White House and Carnegie Hall, playing live to 600,000 people on Capitol Hill (Washington DC), marching at the head of the St Patrick’s Day Parade in New York to Royal command performances from Japan to Finland, and this is just the tip of an extraordinary professional iceberg.
He has recorded with the greatest artists in the business, had multiple hits, has a catalogue of albums and played with some of the best-known artists in the business. His music remains timeless and is a symbol of his remarkable talent.
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Ireland’s ambassador of music!
The concert is supported by Culture Ireland and the Irish Embassy
